Coding Guidelines

TMF has prepared coding guidelines for the following DRGs to assist the hospital staff in coding these DRGs correctly. The information included in these guidelines is not all inclusive. The coder should refer to the applicable Coding Clinic guidelines for additional information. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services considers the Coding Clinic published by the American Hospital Association to be the official coding guidelines hospitals should follow in order to assure accuracy in ICD-9-CM coding and DRG assignment.
